Builders Fund endorses Paige Cognetti for Congress

I am endorsing Paige Cognetti for Congress in Pennsylvania's 8th District.

Her record on capital access and building an innovation economy in an older city is real. As mayor of Scranton, she led the city out of the Commonwealth's Act 47 distressed-municipality program in January 2022, after 30 years in it. S&P Global raised Scranton's credit rating to investment grade in June 2023, the first time since 2011, and to BBB+ in March 2024.

She signed legislation cutting building permit fees by up to 70% and moved contractor licensing and permit applications online, with average processing of 8 days for permits not requiring plan review. Since 2022 the city has issued more than 9,600 building permits.

Paige served as a senior advisor at the U.S. Treasury. This is a builder's record, and this is the kind of record the Builders Fund exists to recognize.
